Off-duty NYPD cop charged with DWI following Brooklyn arrest

An off-duty NYPD cop was arrested overnight for driving drunk in Brooklyn, authorities said.

Angel Balbuena, 27, was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday within the confines of the 66th Precinct, which covers Borough Park, Midwood, and Kensington, police said.

Balbuena was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test, the NYPD said.



Balbuena, who started on the job in 2018, is assigned to the 77th Precinct stationhouse in
Crown Heights, according to public records 50-a.org

A department spokesperson had no other details.
