Die-Hard Trump Supporters Camp Out to See Former President at Madison Square Garden

Dozens of enthusiastic Trump supporters eagerly anticipating seeing their candidate at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night began camping outside the venue on Saturday to secure a seat for the event.

Approximately 100 Trump backers were already lined up in lawn chairs just after midnight on Sunday outside the iconic arena, with some arriving as early as 10 am on Saturday at a spot along 33rd Street and Sixth Avenues.

“We love Trump,” said Patty Vitala, expressing her excitement. “I love Trump and it’s cold out but it’s worth the wait. We want to make sure we get in.”

Patty, 57, and her friends arrived at the Garden at 3:30 p.m. They had even rented a hotel room but decided to stay outside on the street overnight to ensure they kept their spots.

“I was almost going to doze off. We do have a hotel room to go back to change, but we’ll most likely be sitting out here for the night so we don’t lose our seats and make sure we get in,” Patty explained.

Barbara, 54, who works for a school district in Sussex, NJ, was the earliest of the early birds, arriving at 10 A.M. on Saturday.

“I never expected to be first in line,” Barbara shared. “I’ve never been to Madison Square Garden, and I just thought this was going to be a magical event.”

When asked how she passed the time, Barbara mentioned playing Words With Friends.

Scott Williams, 62, came from Staten Island with his girlfriend and arrived at 33rd Street at 11 A.M.

“Well, I’ve never been to Madison Square Garden, so that’s nice,” Williams said. “I’ve never voted in my life until this year.”

He also plans to stay out on the street in sleeping bags overnight, stating, “It’s better than paying $500 to $600 for a hotel. A little bit of cold ain’t no problem.”

Debbie Carrol, 69, traveled from Long Island to see the former president the following day.

“He’s home. This is home. They should give him a good welcoming,” she expressed.

“I don’t plan on sleeping, too much adrenaline,” Debbie added.
