NYC Mayor Eric Adams responds to 'baseless' criminal charges getting tossed -- and vows he'll win re-election

Freshly Unburdened Mayor Eric Adams Vows Re-Election Victory

After a federal judge dismissed his corruption case, Mayor Eric Adams pledged to win re-election in a five-minute address outside Gracie Mansion.

Adams expressed relief that the dismissal marked the end of a challenging chapter for both himself and the city. He apologized to New Yorkers for the baseless case that caused unnecessary distractions and vowed to continue working for them.

He closed his address by showcasing a book that helped him through the ordeal and emphasized that he never stopped working for the people of New York.

Manhattan federal Judge Dale Ho’s decision to dismiss the case with prejudice, preventing it from being brought again, was a significant victory for Adams. The judge criticized the Department of Justice’s request for dismissal without prejudice, suggesting it was politically motivated.

Judge Ho clarified that the dismissal was not a reflection of the allegations against Adams and allowed him to resume his mayoral campaign without the burden of the corruption case.

Adams has faced criticism from opponents during his absence from campaign events but remains confident in his re-election bid. He has until midnight Thursday to file the required signatures to enter the Democratic mayoral primary ballot.

When asked if he still plans to run for re-election, Adams confidently stated, “You know what, I’m going to win.”
