Nintendo is double dipping on Directs tomorrow with an Indie World and Partner Showcase – and no, the Switch 2 won’t be there

Nintendo is deviating from its usual September Direct schedule with two presentations set for tomorrow, all in a single livestream.
Typically, Nintendo Directs are expected in June and September, but this year, Nintendo is shaking things up. The company announced today that on August 27, there will be not one, but two Nintendo Directs. Starting at 7am PT/ 10am ET/ 3pm BST, the Indie World presentation will focus on indie games. Don’t expect any big Mario game reveals here.
Following the Indie World presentation, there will be a Partner Showcase featuring announcements from third-party developers. Don’t anticipate news about Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom or Metroid Prime 4. Both presentations combined will last about 40 minutes. Notably, Nintendo has confirmed that there will be “no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor” during these streams.
Anything could be announced during these presentations, including surprises like Silksong. However, major announcements might be reserved for larger events than a random August livestream.
You can catch the presentations on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel or Twitch account.
