Exciting news for fans of the iconic action series Ninja Gaiden! The Game Awards kicked off with the announcement of a new 2D action title called Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, produced by developer The Game Kitchen with DotEmu as the publisher.
For fans of 2D reimaginings, this is a thrilling development as DotEmu is known for publishing games like Streets of Rage 4 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge. The Game Kitchen, known for the Blasphemous games, is well-equipped for delivering tough but fair 2D combat.
The trailer hints at a return to the original 2D art style, with Ryu Hayabusa making an appearance alongside a new blue-clad ninja protagonist. Will this new character receive a name and a tragic backstory to rival Ryu’s?
The gameplay showcased in the trailer promises intense 2D action, with a focus on combat mechanics like parries, acrobatics, and exploration. Fans of the series will appreciate the nod to the 8-bit origins of Ninja Gaiden.
Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is set for a Summer 2025 release. Stay tuned to TheSixthAxis for more updates from The Game Awards!
