New Quest Game from 'Job Simulator' Studio Surprise-launches This Week, Built Entirely Around Hand-tracking

Owlchemy Labs, the Google-owned studio known for creating Job Simulator (2016) and Vacation Simulator (2019), has surprised fans by announcing their latest VR title today. The new game, Dimensional Double Shift, is a social co-op experience focused on hand-tracking technology. Players can look forward to diving into this multiplayer job simulation game later this week.

Set to launch for free on the Quest platform on September 26th, Dimensional Double Shift allows up to four players to work together at the Gas N’ Grill, a unique diner and service station owned by Conglomni Corp.

With Owlchemy Labs’ signature humor and a variety of very human jobs, players will collaborate to run the service station and serve a diverse group of customers from different dimensions within the Omniverse.

“Players will cook, fix, refuel, incinerate, soak, and serve the bizarre citizens of each dimension, earning rewards and advancing in their career with Conglomni Corp. Don’t waste any food—ALICE, the resident manager from Conglomni Corp, is always keeping an eye on you,” the studio explains.

What sets Dimensional Double Shift apart is its exclusive hand-tracking design, a feature that Owlchemy Labs has successfully integrated into both Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator on the Quest platform.

Following the open beta release on Quest this week, Owlchemy Labs plans to provide regular updates with new dimensions, gameplay activities, and features.

While details on potential monetization at the full launch have not been disclosed, the initial content of Dimensional Double Shift will remain free for players.

Although the game is currently exclusive to Quest, Owlchemy Labs hints at the possibility of expanding to other platforms in the future, emphasizing their status as a multiplatform studio.
