New Lord of the Rings film yet to be announced

A recent update on the upcoming The Lord of the Rings film reveals that The Hunt for Gollum will not be a two-part series, as initially reported.

Screenwriter Philippa Boyens clarified the confusion, stating that there is conceptual work being done on two separate live-action films, with the first being The Hunt For Gollum, and the second one still awaiting confirmation. Boyens mentioned, “I can tell you definitively it isn’t two films! That was a genuine misunderstanding that happened because we’ve begun to work, conceptually, on two different live-action films. The first being The Hunt For Gollum, the second one still to be confirmed”.

Thus, there is anticipation for another The Lord of the Rings movie that is yet to be officially announced.

The upcoming film, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, is not expected until 2026, with actor-director Andy Serkis, known for his portrayal of Gollum, set to direct. Serkis, recognized for his motion capture performance as Gollum, has also made a mark as a director with his work on Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
