New Cities: Skyline 2 update reduces homelessness and makes it easier to track, alongside new difficulty modes

Cities: Skylines 2 has released a new patch with significant changes to the UI and systems, including improvements to traffic and garbage management. Additionally, two new difficulty modes, Easy and Normal, have been introduced along with ten ‘birthday parks’ to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary.
The developers have focused on “quality-of-life improvements related to homelessness”, aiming to enhance the overall gameplay experience. The patch adds a homelessness stat to the population info view, making homeless ‘households’ visible and selectable in park Selected Info Panels.
The update also addresses homelessness within the game by introducing new requirements for homeless citizens to find affordable housing and suitable jobs. Adult citizens will now stay in their childhood homes until certain conditions are met, ensuring a smoother transition out of homelessness.
While initial reviews have highlighted technical issues at launch and a lack of features compared to the original game, recent updates have made notable improvements to economic and social systems. Last year, Colossal Order addressed rising rents by removing landlords, a change well-received by players.
