Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Wrong Organ have announced Mouthwashing has surpassed the 500,000 copies milestone, with plans for console ports of the horror game.

The first-person horror game has achieved over half a million copies sold since its initial release in September 2024 for Windows PC via Steam. Console versions for Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PS5 are scheduled to launch later in 2025.

A physical release of the game for consoles is also in the works in collaboration with Fangamer for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.

Below is an overview of the game along with a previously released trailer:

Mouthwashing is a first-person horror game that follows the dwindling crew of a stranded space freighter.

Who could have predicted the actions of Captain Curly? It seems he believed it was only fitting for his crew to perish alongside him. However, some individuals can’t even manage to end their own lives properly. Left maimed, limbless, and unable to communicate, Curly now relies on the mercy of the crew he condemned to a slow demise.

Key Features:

  • Descend into Madness – Witness the crew’s struggles with starvation, isolation, and interpersonal conflicts.
  • Zero Chance of Rescue – The ship will lose power within six months, with food supplies depleting even sooner.
  • Immersive Storytelling – Pay close attention to your surroundings for clues.
  • Psychological Scares – Trust not what you see.
  • Unforgiving Narrative – Hope for death, or perhaps wish that others had perished instead.
