Italian indie developer Michele Pirovano has released new “Folkways” DLC for dotAGE, his micro city builder roguelike game.
dotAGE received its first downloadable content “Folkways” on all platforms, adding new Pipfolks, new mechanics, new buildings, and more.
Here’s a rundown on the new DLC, plus a trailer:
Folkways is the first expansion for the roguelite turn-based village builder, an old-school expansion which explores and expands the game’s mechanics to provide many more hours of fun.
Folkways adds a lot of new content to the base game, such as:
- The new Pipfolks mechanic, with different Pipfolks that can join your village with various requirements for food, bonuses to production, and special events tied to their culture, which will make your villages even more unique
- New mechanics to manage your villages through Prisons, Cages, Gallows, and even Pip Butchers!
- More than 100 new buildings with unique mechanics and quirks, such as Gold Mines, Koi Ponds, Statues, Aqua Parks, Inkwells, and Latrines
- Many new events, resources, VIPs, ailments, including several new Boons that expand the game’s boundaries
Folkways also adds three new unique Elders with exclusive gameplay:
- Trisavolo. the Dwarf King : Conquer the mountaintop with your Dwarves, mine for all kinds of precious minerals and build a great stone fortress
- Ronomy, the Old Wise Cat: Lead a village made entirely of cats, hunt and herd mice, and keep them happy with ropes and yarn
- Dad, the Jack-of-all-trades: Build unique buildings thanks the resourceful Dad, build Pipbots to help him fight the Apocalypse, and cut down the whole forest
dotAGE has been available for Windows PC (via Steam) and Switch (via the eShop).
