Meta-owned Sanzaru Games Moves on to "next big thing" Amid 'Asgard's Wrath 2' Final Update

Sanzaru Games Releases Final Content Update for Asgard’s Wrath 2 on Quest

Sanzaru Games, known for the popular Asgard’s Wrath franchise, has recently launched the last content update for Quest exclusive Asgard’s Wrath 2 (2023). The studio has now announced that they are moving on to their next project.

According to MIXED, Sanzaru has rolled out the final major content update for Asgard’s Wrath 2, the action-adventure sequel to the studio’s previous Rift-exclusive title Asgard’s Wrath (2019).

‘The Long Winter’, the twelfth and final ‘Cosmic Event’ in the game, started last week, providing players with a new set of time-gated challenges every month to earn points and unlock exclusive cosmetics.

Released in late 2023 for Quest 2 and above, Asgard’s Wrath 2 offers more than 60 hours of gameplay in its campaign, excluding time spent in the monthly Cosmic Events.

“This will be our final major title update for Asgard’s Wrath 2,” stated the game’s Community Manager on the Sanzaru Discord (invite link). “Moving forward, we will focus only on addressing major issues and bug reports. There are no plans for future development of new content for Asgard’s Wrath 2–we want to be transparent with our community about this.”

The studio has now shifted its focus to developing new projects and shared, “We are working on some exciting things and cannot wait to reveal our next big project to our community in the future.”

Following its acquisition by Meta (formerly Facebook) in 2020, Sanzaru has been dedicated to creating titles exclusively for the company’s XR headsets. With their expertise in RPG games demonstrated through their successful entries in the genre, fans are eager to see what Sanzaru has in store next.
