Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 system requirements and PC features are all things to all Spider-people

Mere hours before its January 30th release – wait, that’s today! – Sony has finally revealed the system requirements for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, along with the impressive special features that more powerful rigs can support. Surprisingly, the game will still run on older, slower PCs as the minimum specs are reasonable.

While the minimum requirements are set at 30fps and 720p resolution, with a hefty 140GB of SSD space needed, the GPU and CPU requirements are not overly demanding. For a smoother experience at 60fps and 1080p, an RTX 3060 is a reasonable choice. However, for high-quality ray tracing, Nvidia’s RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 cards are recommended.

Nixxes, the porting house responsible for Marvel’s Spider-Man and Horizon Forbidden West on Windows, has included a wide range of PC-specific features for Spider-Man 2. DLSS 3, FSR 3.1, and XeSS upscalers, along with DLSS 3.5 ray reconstruction, are available for enhanced visuals. Ultrawide and triple-monitor support for various aspect ratios, compatibility with DualSense gamepad features, and more make for a comprehensive PC experience.

While the game’s performance remains to be seen, Nixxes’s approach of catering to various hardware configurations seems promising. Offering high-end features alongside scaled-down settings ensures accessibility for a wider range of players.

These specifications also hint at the game’s compatibility with the Steam Deck, especially with Sony making PlayStation ports more flexible by removing the PSN requirement on select titles.
