Marvel Rivals Season 2 will add more Team-Up skills, plus the usual new heroes

Marvel Rivals, the hero shooter by NetEase, is set to introduce two new heroes every three-month season, potentially doubling its starting roster of 33 heroes over four years. Season 2, starting on 11th April, will bring new Team-Up skills, confirmed by game director Guangyun Chen. The game’s future looks promising as designs for Seasons 3 and 4 are already in development.

Despite recent layoffs and player rank controversies, Marvel Rivals continues to attract a large player base. The addition of the Fantastic Four in the first season exceeded expectations, hinting at a diverse lineup in the upcoming seasons. Rumors suggest that half-vampire Blade may be one of the new heroes in Season 2.

One of the key features of the game is the introduction of Team-Ups, where characters combine their abilities for enhanced gameplay. This new mechanic not only adds depth to the gameplay but also helps balance the diverse hero roster. With the constant influx of new heroes, NetEase faces the challenge of ensuring each hero is balanced and contributes meaningfully to the matches, which Team-Ups facilitate.

While there may be other balancing mechanisms at play, the addition of Team-Ups adds an exciting dynamic to the game. As players dive into the action, they can expect surprises and challenges, such as facing off against a formidable Symbiote Bond.
