Man kicked off Delta flight for wearing obscene Donald Trump tee with viral meme reference

A man was reportedly asked to leave a Delta Airlines flight for wearing a shirt featuring former President Donald Trump making an obscene gesture, along with a reference to the viral “hawk tuah” girl video.

A video posted in the Reddit group r/delta showed the man being removed from the plane at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Saturday morning.

He was wearing a black t-shirt with Trump wearing American flag-colored sunglasses and holding up two middle fingers. The shirt also had the text “Hawk tuah spit on that thang,” referring to the R-rated internet clip.

As he walked down the aisle with his luggage, the man announced, “I’m getting kicked off because of my shirt,” as shown in the footage.

He also referred to the female flight attendant escorting him off the plane as “stupid-ass Wendy” after reading her name tag.

According to a post by SKBeachGirl, the man was asked to change his shirt or be denied boarding after an airline staff member received a complaint about the shirt while he was waiting to board the flight.

He complied by turning his shirt inside-out, and the entire flight boarded.

However, right before takeoff, a Delta employee came on the plane and escorted him off the flight as he had turned his shirt back to the decal side, as mentioned by SKBeachGirl.

Delta has the right to remove passengers from flights if their behavior, attire, hygiene, or odor poses a risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers, among other reasons, as stated in Delta’s Contract of Carriage.

The Post has reached out to Delta for a comment on the incident.

Earlier this year, another Delta passenger claimed she was almost removed from a flight for attempting to board without wearing a bra.

Lisa Archbold, 38, said she boarded a flight from Salt Lake City to San Francisco in January wearing baggy jeans and a loose white T-shirt without a bra. She alleged that a gate agent temporarily escorted her off the plane and insisted that she cover up, even though her breasts were not visible.

Archbold stated that the agent deemed her attire “revealing” and “offensive,” citing a violation of the airline’s policy.
