Lords of the Fallen update 2.0 out now, adds Free Friend’s Pass and 50+ updates

Publisher CI Games and developer HEXWORKS have released a new 2.0 update for their Lords of the Fallen reboot bringing with it a Free Friend’s Pass, over 50 post-launch updates, and more.

“Version 2.0 is the definitive edition of Lords of the Fallen and contains 50+ post-launch updates” said Marek Tymninski, CEO of CI Games in a press release. “The Free Friend’s Pass, shared progression co-op, and more are our way of saying thank you to our community. Honestly, the game has grown way beyond what we first imagined when we launched in 2023 – now is the perfect time for new players to join our franchise and current fans to experience Lords in an exciting new light.”

The big new Lords of the Fallen 2.0 update is now available on all platforms except Steam, as a last-minute technical issue has prevented the update on that platform.

Beyond numerous highly-requested player updates and improvements, V2.0 introduces a genre-first Free Friend’s Pass allowing any player to experience the entire game for free when adventuring with a companion who owns the base game. 

KEY FEATURES OF VERSION 2.0: INFOGRAPHIC FREE FRIEND’S PASS

• All players have free access to the character creator and entire tutorial area base game
• Following tutorial completion, players can experience the entire adventure in online co-op when playing with a friend who owns the base game. Character progress and loot are saved between sessions
• Only the host retains world progression

FULL SHARED PROGRESSION & CROSS-PLAY CO-OP

• Both players save all mainline story progress when on the same ‘New Game’ playthrough having killed a similar number of main bosses (within one)
• Defeated bosses and lit beacons persist in both worlds
• Both players can revive each other
• Both players collect 100% vigor and all loot

IMPROVED COMBAT AND MOVEMENT

• Fully revamped combat system for more precise weapon handling
