Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii has been announced and is coming for you, Skull And Bones

Goro Majima, the recurring eyepatched anti-hero of the previously known as Yakuza series, is living the pirate’s life in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii. Sega has just announced this game with a title that is refreshingly straightforward. The reveal trailer showcases Goro’s adventures in a pirate-themed setting, complete with sailing a galleon and battling ninjas.

The game begins with Goro stranded on a mysterious island, reminiscent of Link in Link’s Awakening. However, Goro’s attire includes a full back tattoo and stylish leather trousers, accompanied by a tiger in a neckerchief. The gameplay transitions to Goro donning a tricorn hat and commanding a ship, with references to Madlantis and ninjas in bullet-proof vests.

Although the setting appears to be in the present day, the combat is showcased in real-time. The highlight of the game is Goro’s enjoyment in his pirate escapades.

The Steam page provides more insight into the game, emphasizing the ship-sailing element. Players can assemble a unique crew, upgrade their ship, explore the open sea, and engage in cannon battles, boarding actions, and treasure hunts.

In terms of combat, players can choose between two fighting styles – the ‘Mad Dog’ style focusing on speed and precision, and the ‘Sea Dog’ style involving dual-wielding swords and pirate tools. The game promises an immersive pirate experience with a touch of humor.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is set to release on 28th February 2025. Fans of the series may find Goro’s new nautical adventure a refreshing twist. For newcomers, a guide on the recommended order to play the LAD series is available for reference.
