LG’s 2025 OLED TVs continue to get even better, but without MLA

LG is focusing on revamping and expanding its QNED TV line at CES 2025, but let’s not overlook their renowned OLED TVs known for delivering top-notch performance year after year. The 2025 OLED TV line seems to continue this trend with improvements in light output and new OLED evo features that will excite gamers.

An interesting aspect of the OLED line this year is the absence of MLA (Micro Lens Array) OLED panels on any model series. This means that the brightness-improving MLA technology introduced with the LG G3 is not present in the 2025 OLED TV models.

To enhance brightness output, LG has upgraded its Brightness Booster Ultimate technology on the newest OLED evo TVs. This technology enhances light control architecture and algorithms to achieve brightness three times higher than conventional OLED models, without MLA technology.

The M5 and G5 models will feature an upgraded processor, the Alpha 11 AI processor Gen2, which aims to improve image quality and performance. The new OLED evo line has also received certifications for “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” from UL Solutions, as well as 100% color fidelity certification from Intertek.

LG’s new OLED evo TVs will support Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation, preserving the creator’s intent in various lighting conditions. The G5 series will introduce new gaming features, including being the first 4K 165Hz VRR TV certified by Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium.

Additionally, LG’s AI Sound Pro promises immersive audio with virtual 11.1.2 channels of surround sound, with AI processing adapting audio and video modes to each user. AI Voice ID can identify users, switch profiles, and adjust settings based on viewing habits.
