Kentucky business owner accused of kidnapping, beating suspected shoplifter

A business proprietor is currently in custody for allegedly kidnapping and brutally assaulting a man suspected of stealing a box of vape pens from his convenience store in Kentucky.

Kaushalkumar Patel, aged 40, was apprehended on Thursday after he and several accomplices purportedly executed the twisted scheme on October 6, 2024, upon observing the individual leaving his E-Z Super Food Mart in Louisville without making a payment, as per various sources.

Authorities stated that the accused thief fled the establishment with Patel and others in pursuit in a van, subsequently using pepper spray on him.
