Jonathan Quick’s shutout streak continues as Rangers stymie Kraken

SEATTLE Kraken’s Win Streak Halted by Rangers
SEATTLE — The Kraken had been on a four-game win streak until they faced the Rangers and their strong defense.
The Rangers, led by goaltender Jonathan Quick, shut out the Kraken with a 2-0 victory at Climate Pledge Arena. Quick, who has not allowed a goal in 127:22 minutes of play, improved to 4-0 for the season.
Quick is now just three wins away from becoming the first U.S.-born goalie to reach 400 wins in NHL history. His shutout in this game marked the 62nd of his 18-year NHL career, moving him ahead of Turk Broda in league history.
After a scoreless first period, the Rangers managed to score in the second period despite the Kraken’s strong offensive efforts.
Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, and Alexis Lafreniere combined for the first goal of the game, with Lafreniere scoring his seventh goal of the season. Panarin extended his point streak to seven games.
Zac Jones added another goal in the third period to secure the win for the Rangers.
The Rangers’ structured defense limited the Kraken’s scoring chances, while Quick made crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.
Overall, the Rangers controlled the game with effective defense and timely goals, ending the Kraken’s win streak.
