'Job Simulator' & 'Demeo' Among First to Support Android XR Ahead of Samsung Headset Launch

Owlchemy Labs and Resolution Games have announced their support for Android XR, bringing some of their popular titles to Google’s upcoming XR operating system.

Android XR will debut on Samsung’s ‘Project Moohan’ mixed reality headset in 2025. This new system is a version of Android specifically designed for XR headsets, allowing users to access both traditional Android apps and immersive XR content.

As experienced XR studios, Owlchemy Labs and Resolution Games are leveraging their expertise in supporting major VR platforms to bring their games to Android XR.

Owlchemy Labs will be bringing their VR titles Job Simulator (2016) and Vacation Simulator (2019) to Android XR, while Resolution Games will offer Demeo (2021) on the platform.

Similar to Apple Vision Pro, Samsung’s Project Moohan will feature hand and eye-tracking capabilities, as well as first-party motion controllers and PC VR streaming.

Both Owlchemy Labs and Resolution Games have integrated hand and eye-tracking into their titles on Vision Pro, making the transition to Android XR relatively seamless thanks to Unity’s support for the platform.

Resolution Games’ CTO Johan Gästrin commended Google for their focus on social experiences in the XR space.

These games provide accessible experiences for newcomers, from the whimsical activities of Job Simulator to the immersive multiplayer board game experience of Demeo. The adoption of Android XR by other XR studios may depend on the success of Project Moohan and factors such as pricing and release date.
