Jenna Fischer swore ‘Office’ co-star Angela Kinsey to secrecy about cancer diagnosis
Jenna Fischer shared that her “Office” co-star and close friend, Angela Kinsey, supported her throughout her private battle with breast cancer.
In an emotional interview with “Today” host Hoda Kotb, Fischer, 50, opened up about her cancer journey, which she kept hidden for a year before publicly announcing her diagnosis and subsequent recovery.
During her treatment, Fischer leaned on Kinsey for support, asking her to keep her diagnosis confidential. Kinsey respected her wishes and provided unwavering support.
As Fischer’s appearance changed due to the treatment, Kinsey stood by her side, even wearing hats to work to show solidarity when Fischer started wearing “wig hats” to cover her hair loss.
When discussing her experience with breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate, Fischer recalled the candid conversation they had, highlighting Applegate’s supportive and humorous response.
Fischer also shared her cancer journey on social media in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, expressing gratitude for her recovery and acknowledging the support she received from Kinsey and her husband.
Kinsey reciprocated the love and support, reassuring Fischer that she always has her back.
Married to director Lee Kirk since 2010, Fischer is a mother of two, cherishing her family and the close relationships that helped her through her cancer battle.
