Israel launched attacks on the Gaza Strip and Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday (November 1, 2024) following unsuccessful diplomatic efforts by U.S. envoys to end the conflict between Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

Reports indicate that 47 Palestinians were killed and many others injured in Israeli strikes on various locations in the Gaza Strip, including Deir Al-Balah, the Nuseirat camp, and Al-Zawayda.

The Israeli military reported targeting armed terrorists in Gaza.

Israel also conducted air raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday morning, with at least 10 strikes reported by Reuters journalists. This marked the first attack on the area, which is known as a Hezbollah stronghold, in nearly a week.

These airstrikes came after Israel issued evacuation orders for 10 neighborhoods. The attacks began before all orders were finalized.

Despite diplomatic efforts by the U.S., Israel continued its military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, with no sign of a ceasefire in sight. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the importance of security and defense against enemy threats in a speech to graduating troops.

Netanyahu’s office also conveyed a similar message to U.S. envoys Amos Hochstein and Brett McGurk during their visit to Israel.

Continued Israeli aggression

Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister Najib Mikati criticized Israel’s refusal to consider proposed solutions, opting instead for a strategy of destruction and violence.
