‘Interview With The Vampire’ Season 3 Confirmed At AMC, Promising A “Sexy Pilgrimage Across Space, Time And Trauma”

Ahead of the Season 2 two finale of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, the network has announced that the series has been renewed for Season 3, and it’s going to be rock n’ roll. Literally.

The official release for the renewal explains that in the upcoming season, the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) is “resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller Interview with the Vampire,” so he plans to “[set] his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can—by starting a band and going on tour.”

The resulting road trip is described as “a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified,” which I will definitely need printed on a t-shirt.

Returning cast for Season 3 includes Reid as the Vampire Lestat, as well as Jacob Anderson as Louis, Assad Zaman as Armand, and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy. The release promises that there will be some new faces and fangs along the way, too.

“When you buy the rights to 18 Anne Rice novels that have sold more than 150 million copies, in your wildest dreams you hope there’s a show as good as Interview on the other end,” Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said in the release.

He added, “What Rolin has done with these stories and characters, working so closely with Mark, as the steward of this universe, has exceeded the loftiest version of our expectations. We can’t wait to see where this creative team takes the series from here and know we are walking alongside an incredibly loyal and passionate base of fans who feel as strongly about this material as we do.”

No premiere date for the third season has been set, but fans of Anne Rice can look forward to plenty of other stories set within her Immortal Universe: Interview with the Vampire is just one show within that franchise which also includes Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, the second season of which is currently in production, and the recently greenlit Anne Rice’s The Talamasca.

The Season 2 finale of Interview with the Vampire airs this Sunday, June 30 on AMC+ and at 9/8c on AMC.
