IndiGo nominates Isidro Porqueras as Chief Operating Officer, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer to retire, BA

IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced the nomination of Isidro Porqueras for the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective November 1, 2024, pending regulatory approvals. Porqueras will succeed Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who will retire later this year after seven successful years at the helm of IndiGo’s operations.

Porqueras brings over 25 years of leadership experience in operations, commercial strategy, and finance, having joined IndiGo in April 2024 as Chief of Transformation. He has since been involved in key operational projects. Before IndiGo, Porqueras served as COO at Volotea, one of Europe’s fastest-growing airlines, and has worked with prominent organizations like McKinsey and Uralita.

Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo, praised Prock-Schauer for his remarkable 40-year career in aviation, including 15 years in Indian aviation. “On behalf of the Managing Director and the Board of Directors, I want to deeply thank Wolfgang for his outstanding leadership, especially during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic.
