Passersby noted a foul odor and reported the suspicious suitcase in the area.

Local resident Flavio Ribadeneyra expressed disbelief, stating, “You would never think that something like that would happen in your building or around your building!”

The suitcase was discovered deep in the wooded area near the apartment complex, with uncertainty about how long it had been there or when the person inside had died.

Police, including the crime lab and K-9 unit, worked at the scene, cordoning it off with yellow police tape. The body was not removed until nightfall when the medical examiner arrived.

The unidentified body will undergo an autopsy to determine the identity and cause of death.
