How to Watch the Google Pixel 9 Launch Live Stream

Google typically hosts a major launch event in the second half of the year, and 2024 is no exception.

However, the company has now confirmed that the next Google launch event will be earlier than usual this year. Additionally, two official teaser videos showcasing some of the expected devices have been released.

Other new hardware and software announcements are also anticipated at the Made by Google event. Here’s everything you need to know about it, including how to watch it live.

When is the next Google event?

In an official teaser video, Google has confirmed that the next event will take place on 13 August 2024.

Here’s the start time of the event based on your location:

• UK: 6:00pm BST
• US West Coast: 10:00am PT
• US East Coast: 1:00pm ET
• Central Europe: 7:00pm CET

If last year’s event is any indication, it should last around an hour.

How to watch the Google event live

Google has not yet confirmed where the event will be available for live streaming.

Considering that the company owns YouTube, it is highly likely that the event will be broadcast via the Made by Google YouTube channel. We will embed the stream here once it’s available.

Historically, the event has also been available for viewing on the Google Store.

What will Google announce at its next event?

New hardware typically takes center stage at a Google event in the second half of the year, and it seems that the company has big plans for 2024.

Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro

Google has already confirmed the launch of the Pixel 9 Pro at the event. While there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding the standard Pixel 9 yet, it is expected to be unveiled alongside the Pro variant.

Leaks have revealed a lot about these new phones, but there are still some unknowns, such as pricing.

Pixel 9 Pro XL

The Pixel 9 Pro XL, a larger version of the Pixel 9 Pro, has been rumored for several months.

If recent leaked promo materials are accurate, we may see two Pro models, with the standard at 6.3 inches and the XL at 6.8 inches.

Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Alongside the Pixel 9 Pro announcement, Google also teased the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to the original Pixel Fold.

This device will now be part of the Pixel 9 family rather than a standalone product, indicating it will share more similarities with the regular phones.

Pixel Watch 3

The Pixel Watch 3, the successor to the Pixel Watch 2, is also expected to be unveiled.

For the first time, the watch is rumored to come in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm, with enhancements over last year’s model.

Pixel Buds Pro 2

A new pair of Pixel Buds is anticipated to refresh Google’s wireless earbud lineup.

Since the original Pixel Buds were launched in July 2022, it would make sense to see a new generation at the event, possibly featuring a redesign and new color options.

Pixel Tablet 2

Google recently released a dock-free version of its Android tablet in May. Will we see a successor to the Pixel Tablet so soon?

With limited leaks, it seems more likely that we may have to wait longer for the Pixel Tablet 2. However, there is a slight possibility that Google might announce a refresh.

Android 15

While hardware is a major focus, it’s expected that AI will play a significant role in the Pixel 9 series. Given that AI is central to Android 15, which Google announced at its IO developer conference in May, it’s possible that the new operating system will debut at the event.

However, with the earlier Pixel launch this year, Google may opt to wait until its usual October timeframe for the Android 15 release.
