How to Stop Google From Using Your Data For Ads
Google recently introduced a new feature called Personalisation in Play at the end of the summer. This feature provides personalized recommendations for games and apps based on your usage patterns. Additionally, it includes “relevant offers,” which essentially refers to advertising.
However, users have the option to control how this personalization feature operates. Here’s how you can do it:
- Visit play.google.com and log in as usual, or open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
- Click on your profile icon in the top right corner and select Personalisation in Play.
- Expand the Play personalisation and history section.
- Under Web and App Activity, you can toggle the drop-down menu next to On. From here, you can either disable the activity or delete your previous activity.

By disabling this feature, Google will no longer collect your activity data while using its apps and services, including location information. Consequently, the ads you receive will be more generic and not personalized to your interests.
