One industry analyst says that the Nintendo Switch 2 is "exactly what people wanted and expected", but it might not be enough to beat the first one's sales

For Xbox players considering transitioning to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, Microsoft’s support for the new console is promising news.

With the gaming industry becoming increasingly expensive, many players find themselves having to choose one console and stick with it. However, this trend is shifting as companies recognize the importance of releasing games on multiple platforms. In a significant move, Microsoft is expanding its reach by making its exclusives available on rival consoles. For example, ‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’ was initially launched on Xbox and PC but will soon be available on PS5. Xbox head Phil Spencer has expressed enthusiasm for supporting the Switch 2, highlighting the evolving landscape of console gaming in a recent interview with Gamertag Radio.

Spencer mentioned, “I was exchanging emails with Furukawa-san, the CEO of Nintendo. I gave him a big congrats and said my old eyes appreciate the larger screen… Nintendo, their innovation, and what they mean in this industry… I just always applaud the moves that they make. They did a little flash video, and I know we’ll get more detail over time. I’m really looking forward to supporting them with the games that we have, and I just think they’re a really important part of this industry.”

Continuing his praise, Spencer added, “It’s hard with what’s publicly out there right now for everybody to get their [heads] around it, but who would ever bet against the success of that team? They are just masterful in what they do, Switch is a massive success, and I think Switch 2 will be as well.”

The anticipation for games coming to the Switch 2 is high, with speculation about titles like Hi-Fi Rush and potential releases of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The future holds exciting possibilities!
