Homeworld 3's coming paid DLC and free updates will now all launch in November, instead of running into 2025

Homeworld 3 has announced changes to its release schedule for post-launch updates. Instead of spreading out free and paid content releases until 2025, all updates – including three free updates and two paid DLCs – will now be combined into one major update set to release in November.

The decision to consolidate all remaining content drops into a single update was made after the release of update 1.2. This unified delivery in November will allow the development team to focus their resources and provide players with a higher-quality experience. The announcement of the roadmap change stated, “Combining the content into one beat will allow us to focus all our resources and provide you all with a higher-quality experience.”

The announcement also reassured players who purchased the Year One Pass that they will receive everything promised. Furthermore, adjustments have been made to the plans based on community feedback.

The Year One Pass included access to three paid DLCs that expand the co-op War Games mode with new playable factions and artifacts. The Kalan Raiders pack was released in July, and the Somtaaw and Taiidan fleet packs are now scheduled for November.

While early access to updates is a positive for many, some players expressed disappointment that the Somtaaw fleet pack only includes two new ships. There are also concerns about the game’s future updates beyond the end of the year.

In a review of Homeworld 3, Nic noted the game’s faithfulness to its predecessors but criticized it for favoring reaction speed over tactical depth. The November update will address some of these concerns based on community feedback, including changes to the tech tree and available resources to enhance gameplay depth.
