Here's a free miniature town-builder with trams from the creator of Viewfinder

When it comes to leisure activities, I find myself torn between playing video games and indulging in the peaceful construction of a quaint Dutch town complete with iron bridges, fountains, and charming trams buzzing around like bumblebees. This creative endeavor is known as Tramstertram, a browser-based building tool developed by Matt Stark, the talented mind behind the delightful Viewfinder.

Freshly launched, Tramstertram offers users a 3D scene that can be rotated, with a variety of tiles to place – from townhouses and streets to tram rails and parkland. These elements seamlessly come together to form larger structures as you piece them together. While it pays homage to Townscaper, Tramstertram is a simpler yet captivating digital gift for anyone looking to unwind by watching a tramcar glide along a row of trees.

Tramstertram features a handful of pre-designed towns, along with a bonus map revealing the magic behind tile combinations. Users can also share their creations by copying and pasting a world code. For those less inclined towards trams, Stark has a history of creating similar building toys centered around treehouses, fishtanks, and mining carts.

It’s a delightful way to wrap up the week, don’t you think? And if you’re craving more creative outlets, keep an eye out for the upcoming release of “whimsigoth,” a cottage builder tool called Tiny Glade – highly recommended by Kiera.
