HBO denies that 'Euphoria' Season 3 is canceled

HBO has confirmed the continuation of the popular series “Euphoria.”

Contrary to recent reports about its cancellation after two seasons, HBO clarified the situation in a statement to The Independent.

According to a network representative, “Euphoria” will be going into production in 2025, with no changes to its future plans.

The Post has reached out to HBO for further comments.

Following the conclusion of its second season in February 2022, “Euphoria” has been on a lengthy hiatus. The show, which originally premiered in 2019, faced delays due to industry strikes and scheduling conflicts among its star-studded cast.

During the hiatus, the sad news of star Angus Cloud’s passing in July 2023 was announced. His accidental overdose was attributed to the combined effects of various substances.

However, HBO confirmed earlier this year that production for “Euphoria” Season 3 will commence in January 2025, with the entire principal cast returning to reprise their roles.

“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on ‘Euphoria’ in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films.

“We look forward to bringing this new season of ‘Euphoria’ to life for the fans,” she added.

HBO CEO Casey Bloys previously discussed the possibility of a five-year time jump for the characters, as creator Sam Levinson was contemplating moving away from the high school setting.

Zendaya, also an executive producer, shared her excitement about the upcoming season and the changes in store for the characters.

Zendaya expressed her anticipation for exploring the characters’ growth outside of high school and how their past experiences will shape their future in a broader context.

For her portrayal of Rue Bennett, Zendaya has received critical acclaim and multiple awards, including Emmy and Golden Globe recognition.

Actress Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, also expressed her enthusiasm to return to the show and explore her character further.

“She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it,” Sweeney said.
