Gwent returns in The Witcher 4, according to CD Projekt's heavy hints

Imagine this scenario: the world is in danger, your adopted daughter is at risk, and nearby villagers are living in fear of monsters. What would you do? Well, if you’re like the character in this story, you’d be sitting comfortably in a local tavern, playing a card game with a guy named “Aldert,” oblivious to the chaos outside. Priorities, right?

But fear not, fans of Gwent, because the developers of Witcher 4 have hinted at the return of the beloved card game in the upcoming sequel led by Ciri.

According to PC Gamer, CD Projekt Red developers have expressed their enthusiasm for Gwent, with executive producer Gosia Mitróg and game director Sebastian Kalemba assuring fans that they will not be disappointed.

Gwent, originally featured in The Witcher 3 and inspired by the card game Condottiere, has evolved over the years into a multiplayer spin-off and a standalone singleplayer adventure. Its popularity and success have paved the way for its inclusion in Witcher 4.

As a fan of the game, I’m excited to see how Gwent will be integrated into the new sequel and if my favorite wintry tactics will still be effective in the gameplay.
