Grit and Valor - 1949's real-time World War mech-stomping launches on Steam today

Grit & Valor – 1949 tells the story of an alternate timeline where the Nazis gained control of mechs and conquered the British Isles. Drawing comparisons to Wolfenstein: The New Order and Into the Breach, the game features rustpunk mechs, strategic battles, and a campaign that takes players from Scotland to Berlin. While not turn-based, players can issue orders while paused, adding a tactical element to the real-time gameplay. Check out the trailer below to get a glimpse of the action.

The objective is to reach Berlin and detonate an EMP to defeat the enemy forces. The campaign unfolds on a node-based map, offering different paths with varying risks and rewards. Players must protect their HQ truck and make strategic decisions like going after optional objectives or collecting supply crates for power-ups. The compact maps create intense battles reminiscent of rival ant farms, catering to players who prefer a more confined space for strategic gameplay. As the campaign progresses, players can expect to encounter more challenging tactical puzzles. Find out more on Steam, where the game is now available.

Update 26th March 2025: Grit & Valor – 1949 is now Steam Deck verified!
