Grinding Gear Games shares update on the Path of Exile PS5 native client

Grinding Gear Games has recently updated the status of the Path of Exile PS5 native client development, which was previously announced a few weeks ago. Sony is treating the native client as a new title, requiring it to go through the certification process once again before it can be approved.

In their official statement, Grinding Gear Games stated, “During our GGG Live broadcast a couple of weeks ago, we mentioned working on a native Path of Exile client for PlayStation 5. In this news post we’d like to give you a small update regarding this and when to expect the client to go live. The PlayStation 5 native client is treated as a new title submission on PlayStation 5. It gets all new PlayStation 5 services integrations like party and trophies. This means that we needed to rework some of those systems compared to the PlayStation 4 client and certify them.

Currently, the game client itself is complete, but we still need to make some adjustments to meet the certification requirements. These adjustments are minor and should not take long. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 client will feature a new set of trophies (which are the same as PlayStation 4 trophies) that will be unlocked automatically when you log in to the game.
