God of War Ragnarök Dark Odyssey Collection update coming March 20th

Santa Monica Studio has announced that they will be releasing the Dark Odyssey Collection update for God of War Ragnarök in celebration of God of War’s 20th anniversary. The collection is named after the original working title of the first God of War game. The main addition in this update is the classic black and gold skin that players unlocked after completing God of War II on God Mode difficulty. You can view images of the new skin below.

Santa Monica Studio has mentioned that the weapon appearances will only be accessible once the weapons have been upgraded to their highest level. Players will have the option to individually apply the styles to Kratos’ arsenal using the Edit Appearance feature. Additionally, a fan kit will be released which includes social media banners, icons, and desktop and mobile wallpapers. For fans in Los Angeles, an exhibition showcasing artwork and memorabilia from the God of War 20th anniversary will be held at Galley Nucleus.

Merchandise for the 20th anniversary will also be available for pre-order this week. The God of War: 20^th Anniversary Retrospective is a two-volume book set containing stories from the development team, art, and behind-the-scenes insights. The studio has collaborated with Cook & Becker for 20th anniversary art prints, and with Fangamer for a 67-inch Jörmungandr Plush. Vinyl collectors can look forward to a 13-disc Limited Edition vinyl set from Laced Records featuring music from the entire series. Limited Edition double LP sets for the original God of War, God of War II, and God of War III will also be available. Insert Coin will release a set of t-shirts featuring the logos of each game.
