Get ready: Google Search may bring a pure ‘AI mode’ to counter ChatGPT
Google is set to launch a new “AI Mode” for its search engine, resembling the Gemini AI chatbot interface. This feature will enhance user experience by allowing them to ask follow-up questions related to search results via a chatbot text bar.
Reports suggest that the AI Mode tab will be added to the search result links alongside other options like “Images” and “Videos.” Screenshots from a beta version of the Google Search mobile app reveal the icon for AI Mode, which includes a speech option for voice queries.
While Google has not confirmed these developments, it is seen as a response to competition from OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot. OpenAI has gained popularity with its search feature, leading to speculations about potential AI-powered browser development to rival Google.
On the other hand, Google has been focusing on AI summaries in Google Search and expanding this feature to more markets. The company’s strategy seems to involve integrating legacy features into Gemini, showcasing its commitment to AI integration.
