Following the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team has unveiled more details about their upcoming original horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn, in a new dev diary.

Announced in October, the video delves into the post-apocalyptic 1980s Poland setting of Cronos: The New Dawn. Players will take on the role of a time-traveling Traveller, tasked with rescuing individuals who didn’t survive the apocalypse by navigating through time rifts.

Co-directors Jacek Zieba and Wojciech Piejko provided insight into the game’s inspirations, drawing from titles like Dead Space and Dark Souls, as well as movies like Twelve Monkeys. The unique deep sea diver-like suit worn by the Traveller is designed to aid in surviving encounters with the Orphans, twisted remnants of humanity with elements of body horror.

While the dev diary offers glimpses of gameplay, Bloober hints at a more extensive gameplay reveal in the near future.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this year.
