Remedy Entertainment Announces FBC: Firebreak Launching This Summer

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that FBC: Firebreak will launch this summer for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will feature three-player PvE co-op gameplay and will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, PlayStation Plus Extra, and PlayStation Plus Premium.

The gameplay reveal for FBC: Firebreak introduces players to the dangerous supernatural threat of Sticky Notes. In The Oldest House, haunted sticky notes are a real problem, and players will embark on missions like Paper Chase to destroy as many sticky notes as possible. Other missions in the game include tasks like finding mannequin ski instructors and loading them onto a paranatural ski lift.

Players will have the choice of three saved loadouts called Crisis Kits, each themed around a particular tool and playstyle. They can also select the Threat Level and Clearance Level of a Job to determine the difficulty of enemies and the complexity of the mission.

The game features a variety of enemies, including regular Hiss zombie-type enemies, bomb squad Hiss with heavy armor, humanoid forms constructed of sticky notes, and a giant Sandman-like boss. Players must be cautious of getting covered with sticky notes themselves, but allies can help wash them down or use showers scattered around the world to remove them.

In addition to standard weapons like shotguns, players can utilize unique tools such as a crank-fired fluid projector, an electric charge impactor, and a big wrench with a squeaky toy pig attachment. The gameplay has elements reminiscent of Left 4 Dead, with safe rooms providing structure to levels and the need to defend against alerted enemies.
