Escape from Tarkov is offering players in-game currency as a bounty for reporting cheaters

Escape from Tarkov is implementing new measures to combat cheating by rewarding players with in-game currency for reporting offenders.

The game has been actively working to eliminate cheaters, with thousands of banned players publicly listed as proof of enforcement. However, cheating persists, leading the developers to introduce a bounty system as a new approach.

Referred to as “compensation for reporting players who violated game rules” in the latest patch notes, the bounty system rewards players who successfully report cheaters with in-game currency once the offender is confirmed and banned.

The exact amount of the reward is not specified, but players who consistently report cheaters will receive a cumulative reward for their efforts.

The bounty system is now active with the latest patch 0.14.9.5, which also includes features like item wishlists, AI tweaks, and offline play for the PvE Zone mode. This mode was previously exclusive to a $250 edition of the game, causing some controversy among players. The developers eventually allowed owners of the older bundle access to the PvE mode after facing backlash.
