Eric Bieniemy Joins Chicago Bears as Running Backs Coach

Eric Bieniemy is headed to the Windy City. The Bears have hired Bieniemy as their running backs coach, marking his return to the NFL after a stint at UCLA.

Bieniemy previously served as the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at UCLA before being let go after a 5-7 season.

Prior to his time at UCLA, Bieniemy spent 10 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a successful tenure as the team’s offensive coordinator, winning two Super Bowls.

After his time with the Chiefs, Bieniemy had a brief stint as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders in 2023.

Now, Bieniemy joins a revamped coaching staff in Chicago under new head coach Ben Johnson, along with new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.

The Bears will be looking for offensive improvement in quarterback Caleb Williams’ second year in the NFL, as the team struggled in multiple offensive categories last season.

With the coaching changes and new additions to the staff, the Bears hope to turn things around after a disappointing 5-12 season in 2024.
