Electronic Arts’ latest financial report has confirmed their plans for the next Battlefield game. Closed public playtesting has already begun earlier this year, with the official reveal of the next Battlefield set for this summer. The game is still slated for release in fiscal year 2026, ahead of GTA 6, which EA had been trying to avoid.

CEO Andrew Wilson stated, “As we look to the future, we’re confident in our ability to deliver a deep pipeline of blockbuster entertainment, starting with the highly anticipated Battlefield reveal this summer.”

During a Q&A session with investors, Wilson further explained, “In regards to Battlefield, we have always aimed for a launch window that maximizes the value we have invested in the franchise and what players will experience when they start playing.”

“We now believe that the launch window is clearer and we are very optimistic about releasing Battlefield in fiscal year 2026.”

Referring to GTA 6’s delayed release to May 26, 2026, EA strategically planned the Battlefield launch for FY26, giving them the flexibility to avoid competition with GTA 6. Initially targeting the end of 2025, EA had the option to push the release to early 2026.

The next Battlefield is being developed by Battlefield Studios, which includes Criterion, DICE, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios. Battlefield Labs playtesting earlier this year provided a glimpse of gameplay, showcasing a modern Middle Eastern map with tanks and soldiers engaging in intense battles. The game emphasizes destructible environments, with buildings being demolished in spectacular fashion.
