Donald Trump works at PA McDonald's to needle Kamala Harris

FEASTERVILEE-TREVOSE, Pennsylvania — Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pa., drawing a large crowd and serving up some fries and political banter aimed at his rival.

McDonald’s has always been a favorite of Trump’s, and this visit was also a way for him to challenge Vice President Kamala Harris’ claims of working at the fast-food chain in the 1980s.

Trump, 78, jokingly stated on “Fox and Friends” that he was going to McDonald’s because Harris had lied about working there and that he intended to work in the kitchen to prove his point.

During the event, scores of people lined up outside the McDonald’s in Lower Southampton Township to catch a glimpse of the former president in action. Some patrons were open to receiving any order Trump gave them.

Trump’s visit to McDonald’s was a direct response to Harris’ repeated assertions that she worked at a McDonald’s in Alameda, California, while in college. She used this experience to highlight her middle-class background in contrast to Trump’s wealth.

Despite the controversy surrounding Harris’ claims, Trump’s affinity for McDonald’s is well-known. He has been seen enjoying meals from the fast-food chain on various occasions, including ordering a large quantity of burgers and fries to honor the Clemson Tigers in 2019.

Trump’s campaign stop at McDonald’s comes amidst a heated battle for Pennsylvania, a key battleground state in the upcoming election. His visit to the fast-food chain was part of a larger campaign strategy to connect with voters in the state.
