Diablo 4's 2025 roadmap outlines upcoming seasons, tweaks and, ugh, collabs

Diablo 4 is approaching its second anniversary with exciting updates still in store. Blizzard recently revealed its roadmap for the game for the remainder of the year, with the current seventh season underway and the eighth season, Belial’s Return, set to start soon. This upcoming season will introduce Belial, Lord of Lies, as a boss, along with bosses from Vessel of Hatred as part of the updated Lair Boss system.

However, the less exciting news is that this season will also feature an “IP collab.” While this may raise concerns based on past crossovers in other Blizzard games, the blog post assures that the collab will align with Diablo 4’s dark themes. Additionally, season ten will also include a collaboration with another universe.

Season nine, titled Sins of the Horadrim, will run from July to September and bring new powers, Nightmare dungeon activities, dungeon escalation, and an earnable pet. Season ten will introduce new chaos powers, an Infernal Hordes update, and another earnable pet. Throughout the year, players can expect quality of life updates such as a refreshed Battle Pass and Seasonal Journey for a more rewarding experience.

While there won’t be a new expansion this year, the roadmap hints at one coming in 2026, along with a new ranking system, leaderboards, and other undisclosed features obscured by flames. Blizzard may need to fix that for better readability.
