Arshdeep Singh Gill, also known as Arsh Dalla, who has been designated a terrorist by India, is believed to have been arrested in Ontario Province, Canada, following a shooting incident that took place on October 28, 2024 in Milton. Sources in New Delhi claimed this on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) announced on November 5, 2024 that they had apprehended two individuals on charges of “discharging firearm with intent” after an investigation related to the incident where one of them was treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital in Guelph, Ontario. The identities of the accused were not disclosed, and both men are currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

According to sources, one of the arrested individuals is suspected to be Arsh Dalla, who has connections with the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and was involved in running terror activities on behalf of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist who was killed in June 2023.

The HRPS Major Crime Bureau is actively investigating the incident, as stated in a press release by the Halton police, which mentioned that a 25-year-old male from Halton Hills and a 28-year-old male from Surrey BC have been charged in connection with the shooting.

In a separate development, Punjab Police announced the arrest of two members of Arsh Dalla’s gang who were allegedly involved in the murder of a Sikh activist last month. The individuals, Anmolpreet Singh alias Vishal and Navjot Singh alias Neetu, were apprehended in Kharar, Mohali.

Arsh Dalla has been accused of various criminal activities including targeted killings, terror financing, and extortion in Punjab. He was designated a terrorist by the Indian government in January last year for his involvement in cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons, among other offenses.

The central government has identified Arsh Dalla as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, citing his involvement in terrorism-related activities in Punjab.
