Deion Sanders claims he’s ‘judged on a different scale’ than other college coaches

Deion Sanders made a splash at Big 12 Media Days with his candid remarks.

During his appearance in Las Vegas, the University of Colorado head coach emphasized that his success should be measured differently than traditional wins and losses.

Sanders stated, “I’m judged on a different scale. My wins are totally different than your wins.”

Sanders seems to be alluding to the fact that in just one year, he turned Colorado from a struggling Power Five team into a team that attracted A-list celebrities.

Despite a strong start at 3-0, the Buffaloes struggled in the latter part of the season, finishing with a 1-8 record.

Known for his bold personality, Sanders has not shied away from making bold statements since taking on the coaching role.

His son, Shedeur Sanders, the starting quarterback for Colorado, also exudes confidence and high expectations for himself and his team.

Despite the high-profile players like Sanders and Travis Hunter, Colorado ended the season at the bottom of the Pac-12 standings with a 1-8 conference record.

Heading into the 2024 season with Sanders and Hunter leading the team, Colorado was predicted to finish 11th out of 16 teams in the Big 12.

All eyes will be on Colorado in Sanders’ second season as head coach, with five guaranteed national TV games on the schedule, starting with a matchup against North Dakota State on August 31.

Sanders’ unapologetic confidence and high expectations continue to make waves in the college football world.
