Could an Amazon driver could be the one who saves your life?

Amazon is making a quiet shift from being a merchandising giant to also becoming a healthcare giant. The company is leveraging its extensive logistics network and expanding medical services to potentially save lives, starting with delivering healthcare services to your front door.
In a pilot program called Project Pulse back in 2023, Amazon equipped delivery vans with defibrillators and provided CPR training to drivers. Over 100 drivers in cities like London, Amsterdam, and Bologna participated, with some receiving alerts from citizen responder apps and responding to emergencies before rescue services arrived.
While the company has not yet implemented the program on a larger scale, an Amazon spokesperson mentioned that they are evaluating feedback and considering future opportunities for similar initiatives.
This move could be a significant public relations victory for Amazon and a way to expand its healthcare ventures beyond its acquisition of One Medical for $3.9 billion earlier in 2023. With competitors like Walgreens and Walmart scaling back their primary care services, Amazon seems poised to revolutionize healthcare delivery and provide more than just products to customers at their doorstep.
