Cosy Hobbit life sim Tales of the Shire delayed to 2025

Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings game has been delayed once again, with the new release date set for July 29, 2025. This cosy Hobbit life simulation game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Netflix gaming.

Weta Workshop announced the delay of Tales of the Shire on a platform that is not being shared:

Dear Fellow Hobbits,

Just like a well-prepared Hobbit feast, Tales of the Shire requires time to ensure that every Hobbit, across all platforms, can enjoy the same cozy experience. The game will now launch on July 29, 2025.

Our goal is for this game to feel like a warm embrace from Middle-earth, ensuring that no matter where you play, you will feel right at home in The Shire. Every detail, from foot-hair styles to the fluffiest cakes, will be meticulously crafted.

We appreciate your patience and are excited for you to immerse yourself in life in The Shire this summer. In the meantime, set the table, shine your silverware, and prepare for a feast fit for a Hobbit!

We look forward to welcoming you to Bywater.

—The team at Weta Workshop Game Studio

Tales of the Shire allows players to create their own Hobbit character who resides in Bywater and can build their own life. As time progresses in Bywater, other Hobbits will seek your Hobbit’s assistance. Players can engage in various cozy activities such as growing vegetables, fishing, trading with neighbors, and cooking meals. Explore Bywater, interact with other Hobbits, visit the shop, or venture out to gather supplies in the fields.
