Cosy Hobbit life sim Tales of the Shire delayed to 2025

Unfortunately, fans of Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game will have to wait a little longer for its release. Private Division and developer Weta Workshop have announced a delay, pushing the game’s launch from late 2024 to early 2025.

Tales of the Shire is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Fans can look forward to more information about the game during the upcoming A Hobbit Day Showcase on September 22nd.

The team released a statement saying:

“We are thrilled to invite players into the peaceful world of the Shire, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. We want the experience of stepping into Bywater for the first time to be truly magical for every player.

“In order to ensure we deliver on that vision, Tales of the Shire will now be launching in early 2025.

“Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. Make sure to tune in to our A Hobbit Day Showcase on September 22nd to discover more about Tales of the Shire and our new release date.”

As a life simulation game, Tales of the Shire will allow players to live out the daily life of a Hobbit. Players can customize their own Hobbit character and decorate their Hobbit homes. In Bywater, players can assist other residents, gather resources, cook, and even tend to their gardens. The focus is on living a cozy life and building friendships with those in the community. How delightful!
