Control update will add HDR and PS4-exclusive mission for all platforms

Remedy Entertainment’s Control has received a major update, now available on PC and soon to be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This update includes graphical enhancements such as HDR support and the addition of a previously PlayStation exclusive mission that is now accessible on all platforms.
PC gamers can now enjoy HDR support, 10-bit SDR support, compatibility with ultra-wide monitors up to 48:9 aspect ratio, and a new Ultra ray tracing preset that enhances ray per pixel count and temporal stability. These improvements are complemented by advancements in GPU technology and DLSS support, including DLSS 3.7, DLAA support, and other optimizations. While gamers can mod DLSS-supported games to utilize AMD’s FSR 4, native support for FSR 4 in the future would be welcomed.
All players can now access the mission Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, featuring voiceover by Hideo Kojima, previously exclusive to the PS4 Digital Deluxe version of Control. This mission can be played by collecting the first Dr. Tokui Tape in the Extrasensory Lab of the Research Sector.
The upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Control Ultimate Edition will also receive enhancements such as HDR, improved SDR color range, and potential PS5 Pro support with ray tracing improvements.
Remedy emphasizes that the development team is small and is taking a cautious approach to ensure a smooth rollout of updates without introducing bugs or issues.
