Märchen Maze

Hamster Corporation has introduced a new title to their Arcade Archives collection called Märchen Maze, a classic Namco action game inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Märchen Maze is now accessible globally for Nintendo Switch (via the eShop) and PlayStation 4 (via the PlayStation Store).

Originally created by N.H. System and released by Namco in 1988 for Japanese arcades, the game later saw a release on PC-Engine in 1990 and a port to Sharp X68000 in 1991. While the game was digitally released for the Wii Virtual Console in Japan in 2009, this marks its first appearance in the Western market.

Here’s an overview of the new release, along with a trailer:

“MARCHEN MAZE” is an action game from NAMCO (Bandai Namco Entertainment) released in 1988. Players control the protagonist, Alice, as she endeavors to reclaim the Mirror Country from the clutches of the evil queen. Utilize soap bubble attacks and jumps to progress through the levels and confront the final boss.

Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives series faithfully brings back classic arcade games for contemporary platforms.
